Well Alrighty Then

This is the post where I am filling in so I have some content but I really haven’t got much to say. I mean I want my blog to be cool, y’all,,, and to get traffic but sometimes I just can’t get excited to write about whatever is going on. Kinda like I just lived it but don’t want to relive it.

But I will of course. Cause I’m narcissistic like that.

Well we all got the SUMMER NASTY ASS COLD VIRUS 2008 before Shea’s birthday. The day before his party I was positively wrecked tired and sick and was going to cancel but my hubs who was healthy assured me that he’d pull my share and his. Plus my family offered to come early and help so it’d be fine. But then Dan’s office lost power due to the craptastically armageddon weather we have been experiencing and since he’s the Network Guy…he was standing by til the power went back up and he could go in and restart the machines and boost the servers or whatever the hell computer and networking gurus do. So yeah that happened in the middle of the freaking NIGHT.

So by the time our FABULOUS guests rolled in fo the party Dan had been up over 24 hours. And he had come down with the SUMMER NASTY ASS COLD VIRUS 2008. We made a VERY smart decision when planning the party – we didn’t realize then how lifesaving the decision would be – to have the party in between meal times… just serve snackies and have the cupcakes for dessert. This kept us from really losing it to get the party into swing and keeping our guests happy. I was in a “zone” during the party – hopped up on sudafed, robitussin and advil – and Dan was about to collapse but we held it together!

I think Dan and I descended into sinus infections but I think mine has ridden out… I still have some congestion with coughing but it’s much better than it was. Dan’s is getting worse so he is likely going to the doctor’s tomorrow. Either that or he may drill a hole to relieve some pressure and that could get messy.

The boys have bounced back marvelously… thank GOD. And Shea had a good one year check up last week. He is cruising around like a madman. pulling up on everything staying still and will bear his weight. The doctor wasn’t concerned that he’s not crawling and doesn’t think he will before he walks on his own. I guess the fact that he’s willing to walk holding our hands and cruise along furniture means he’s ok. Don’t get me wrong I still worry – but that’s my job as the mum and all.

One bright spot this week – I WON A CONTEST! Erin at Erin Cooks was giving away the Pops! Icy Treats for Everyone cookbook! And I won it! I need to pick up some pops molds but Liam is a pops fanatic so I can see him loving something like the root beer float pops. There are also some tasty looking adult flavors like mojito pops. Anyway, thanks to Carrie for referring me there and thanks to Erin for the giveaway!

Also? BON JOVI BABY! Less than 2 days away til I’m rocking with my boyfriend at the Boston Garden. MEOW!

Summer camp started this week – 3 mornings a week for 4 weeks for Liam. Woo to the freaking HOO! I am so happy for some organized fun and socializing for him. 9 hours/week of getting shit done for me. Granted, the first day Shea decided the idea of napping was overrated and I spent most of the time trying to amuse him… it was nice to have my focus in one LESS place for a little bit.

Ok this has GOT to be one of THE MOST BORING POSTS ever. But I needed to get the ball rolling again SOMEHOW. So. Spot on. Alrighty then.
